The 1999 American Oak Cask is a limited edition, rare cask strength (50.1% ABV) and non chill-filtered Irish single malt.

Bushmills 1999 American Oak is the first of two bottles released exclusively for the Irish market as part of the 2023 Causeway Collection. This is the fourth edition of the annual Causeway Collection, a nine-bottle international release, designed to create country-exclusive Irish single malts from Bushmills Distillery, in Northern Ireland.

With over 23 years maturing in new American oak this exclusive single malt reveals huge flavours from all its years in the new American oak cask that deepens into a sweet velvety vanilla finish with warm wood spices.

Bottled in 1999, the new American oak has had a profound effect on this Irish single malt, enhancing the warm spice and rich oak notes.

Alex Thomas, the master blender at Bushmills and the signatory on every bottle, hand-selected the cask and spirit that make up this exceptional release, which is partnered with the 2010 Cognac Cask bottling as a duo of Ireland-only exclusive releases.

Other countries in the 2023 Causeway Collection will include locations that represent some of Bushmills' biggest markets, such as France, Germany, Australia and yet-to-be-revealed airport exclusives.
