Glenrothes Whisky

Complex & Balanced Since 1879

Since 1879

We have been making whisky quietly, and without compromise, since 1879.

It’s in our Spirit

Our distillery is in the town of Rothes, in the heart of Speyside. We don’t have a visitors’ centre. In fact, we don’t even have a road sign. It’s The Glenrothes whisky itself that puts us on the map.

Complex & Balanced

Every dram of our whisky is a statement of our maker’s craft and an unwavering commitment to the best raw materials, patient distillation and the highest quality casks.

The Four Corners: The foundations of The Glenrothes single malt.

Discover the values that have guided us from the beginning. As they surround us & sustain everything we do, we call them our Four Corners.

1. Our own water sources
To this day The Glenrothes is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to have its own sources of water for production, processing and spirit reduction located on the estate.

2. Slow distillation
Slow distillation eliminates more impurities and allows for the production of a lighter and fruitier spirit, which is more delicate overall.

3. Sherry seasoned casks
Sherry seasoning brings a unique depth of flavour to the maturation process. Our casks are all assessed and repaired at our own in-house cooperage, using time-honoured methods.

4. Natural colour
A great single malt should be enjoyed with all the senses. That’s why we always maintain the natural cask colour of our whisky.
