Loch Lomond Whisky

Exceptional Flavours Flowing From Remarkable Stills

Loch Lomond Distillery

Located on the Southern shore of Loch Lomond, our distillery is a gleaming, steampunk miracle of alchemy and engineering, combining innovative straight necked and traditional swan-neck stills to capture a wider spectrum of flavour, essential to our signature house style. We’re one of only four distilleries in Scotland with our own cooperage. This gives us complete control over the whisky in each cask – from distillation to maturing to bottling.

Loch Lomond’s Signature Style

Our distillery uses; 100% Scottish barley, peated & unpeated, 92-hour fermentation periods, 4 types of yeast, and two unique types of still to create our signature style – orchard fruits, honey, and soft smoke. The extended fermentations and straight neck pot stills help to develop the characteristic apple, pear, and apricot notes of our new make spirit.

Almost all of the whisky produced at Loch Lomond is matured in American Oak (ex-bourbon) casks from a variety of bourbon producers such as Heaven Hill, Wild Turkey, and Jack Daniels. These quality American Oak casks allows the true distillery character to develop and adds the signature honey richness to our single malts.

Our unique still set up allows us to create five peated new make spirits. By marrying our spirits after initial maturation, we can add varying levels of soft smoke to our whiskies. Our Perfectly Balanced 12 year old single malt whisky is the purest form of our signature style. Those looking to explore either the fruitier or smokier flavour profiles can try our Inchmurrin 12 year old or Inchmoan 12 year old respectively.
