Benriach 10 Year Old

With distinctive notes of apple and plums on the nose, this silky smooth Speysider continues with green fruit on the plate, layered on top of a silky barley finish.

Benriach, the Original Ten, is a sumptuous honeyed malt cask-matured in virgin oak to create a multi-layered character that has won fans all over the world. For Benriach, this is its signature style scotch whisky and a classic Speyside single malt.

Bottled at 43%, Benriach the Original Ten is matured in three cask types: bourbon barrels, sherry casks and virgin oak casks. Left in wood for at least 10 years, the single malt that is ultimately produced is a perfect introduction to the brand.

Benriach Distillery is owned by Brown forman, the US based drinks conglomerate that also has Glendronach and GlenGlassaugh in its stable.

Tasting notes

The official tasting notes for Benriach the Original Ten capture the luscious orchard fruit, malt sweetness, toasted oak and ripe pear that give this single malt Scotch whisky its deserved reputation.

Aroma
On the nose you’ll immediately discover rich orchard fruits, honey and toasted oak.

Taste
This leads to a complex palate of almond, ripe pear, malt sweetness and spiced vanilla.

Finish
The finishing note of this sweet signature smooth malt whisky is a smoky and fruit-sumptuous honeyed malt.

Aged for at least ten years, this three-cask matured single malt whisky has an ABV of 43%. The peat element here is gentle with just a subtle trace of smoke that is designed to create layers of flavour and complexity.
