The Hibiki brand is Suntory's premium blend. It's a meticulously crafted whisky from the drinks producer, which is one of the oldest in Japan. The malt and grain whiskies used to make the Hibiki blend are distilled in two main Suntory distilleries: Yamazaki and Hushuku as well as a smaller amount of delicate grain whisky from the Chita distilleries.

Blends are very common in Japanese whisky production and often as equally popular as their single malt production. The Hibiki Blossom Harmony was a sellout on release in Japan for a release price of around $90 but is such a collector's favourite that it has increased in price many times over since.

In part, this is because of the popularity of the Japanese nature of production, its use of the relatively rare Sakura wood casks, as well as the continued interest in the Hibiki expression of whisky production overall.

Fans particularly seek out the candied orange peel and white chocolate subtle notes delivered by the wood polish of the Sakura cask. Hibiki Blossom Harmony 2022 is a wonderful example of this annual Japanese release.
