Tasting notes
Aroma
The nose of this Islay single malt scotch whisky comes wrapped in sizzling cinnamon, spiced toffee and waxy dark chocolate. Notes of zesty lemon and fresh pear permeate the aroma too, with lots of ripe bananas underneath.
Palate
It’s on the taste that the Ardbeg 10-year-old really lifts, with lots of tarry rope, toasted almonds, soft barley and crackling peat sets the tone while black pepper pops in the background.
Finish
The finish is superb with a delicious sweetness rewarding the flavour explosions of the palate and a bold menthol underpinning the tarry ropes with a perfect balance.
