Glenesk / Hillside Distillery

Originally built on the site of an even older flax mill, the Glenesk distillery was in existence for over a century, located near the town of Montrose. It had a couple of name changes in its lifetime including being renamed Hillside. As well as having a number of owners it has also evolved from once being a grain distillery to being a malt distillery again.

Much of its former site has now been given over to housing.

Only a few bottles remain from Glenesk / Hillside distillery, making bottlings from there very rare indeed.
