Midleton Very Rare 2025

Every year the whiskey world waits for the release of next Midelton Very Rare, as part of the collection that started back in 1984. The 2025 release is a very special year indeed as it commemorates 200 years of whiskey making excellence at Midleton Distillery. Here is a whiskey of unrivalled depth and balance, meticulously composed from six distinct distillate styles. This year’s release pays tribute to the past and the extraordinary whiskeys that have come from this iconic distillery.

The nose opens with sweet waves of caramelised apple, toffee fudge and vanilla, while the subtle herbal and floral notes of freshly picked garden mint and lavender slowly build over time, complementing the woodland spices of cinnamon and nutmeg thanks to the rich influence of the American oak.

With the taste comes textured layers of sweet honeycomb with soft fruits and delicate herbal undertones. White pepper with a mild hint of chilli oil work with the nuanced citrus and orchard fruits while its sweet nature builds with decadent flavours of treacle, toffee, vanilla, and sugar glazed fruits.

The finish is rich and lasting. The fruits begin to softly fade, leaving the oak and pot still spices with the final word.
