Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish
Rum cask finishing gives this maritime whisky soft brown sugar and banana notes. Crafting a rare type of Campbeltown malt that appeals to those looking for something a little special.
Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish was released to compliment the popular Glen Scotia Double Cask bottling. It’s a rich and exotic whisky with lots of tropical fruit notes.
Matured in American oak casks, the single malt scotch whisky was finished for up to a year in Guyanese demerara rum barrels. These rum casks are incredibly well seasoned and deliver rich sweet notes and a tropical mouthfeel that somehow manages to capture the maritime sea spray personality of Glen Scotia’s signature flavour.
Tropical fruits are referenced in many whisky types but the rum casks used here create that cooked sugar experience that can only come from the combination of rum and the well-matured finest American oak barrels.

Finish
The finish of this ever-popular Glen Scotia double cask rum finish is long and lingering and is a wonderful example of what the Campbeltown distillery is striving to achieve with its single malt whisky. A fan favourite.
Glen Scotia Distillery is one of the smaller operators in Scotland but it holds a big place in Campbeltown, once the capital of Scotch whisky production. It remains one of only three distilleries left in the wake of an economic downturn that saw more than 30 distilleries close down.
Campbletown
While the region will probably never return to the heyday of the Victorian era, the remaining distilleries are working incredibly hard to develop and drive the Campbeltown region – which remains an official Scotch whisky region.
Located on the Kintyre peninsula, the Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish and its single malt Scotch whisky siblings in the core collection become a beacon for fans of this personality-driven distillery.
